We successfully installed and calibrated 14 permanent bicycle and pedestrian counters along key regional trails across four communities. These installations are located on the Riverwalk Trail in Amesbury, the Rail Trail in Methuen, the Clipper City Rail Trail in Newburyport, and the Ghost Trail, Old Eastern Marsh Trail, and William Lloyd Garrison Trail in Salisbury. Each station features a post equipped with infrared sensors and piezoelectric strips embedded in the trail surface to accurately monitor usage. The counters are a mix of solar-powered and battery-powered units, designed to operate efficiently in various environmental conditions.
